MAJOR BUZZ. JOBz NOW HAS OVER 2,600 TWITTER FOLLOWERS and 900 Video Views in 2 weeks.
What is JOBz About? It’s a new trend in reality television. In a word … it’s empowering. According to the United States Department of Labor, 15.7 Million Americans were unemployed in October 2009 – 10.2 percent of the total U.S. labor force! JOBz TM, the exciting new reality TV series by The Legacy Productions, aims to make those figures fall while also raising the bar for ten (10) deserving out-of-work men and women in search of their ultimate dream jobs. It’s a new “aspirational” twist on reality TV. Instead of a race to the bottom, JOBz empowers the 10 Candidates along with the viewers about getting and keeping a job – something on the minds of everyone from 16-72.
JOBz is a new type of empowering reality television. Our mission is to entertain and educate in a way which transforms our 10 unemployed Job Candidates and our audience. We are putting the world back to work – one job at a time …

TRY THIS in 2010. Rather than a race to the bottom, consider watching an over the top TV experience. What if there was a reality TV series that empowered rather than trashed the contestants? Would you watch it?
We think so and that’s “JOBz”, a 10 episode reality TV series in pre-production in the North East training mentally and physically 10 of the currently unemployed people in a 30 day boot camp designed to help them victoriously re-enter the workforce. In the US there is 1 job for every 4 people, so the pressure is on. They come in with a lot of baggage. These 10 leave winners in every sense. This is at present an independent production by The Legacy Productions, LLC. We are currently seeking several anchor sponsors to package with a presentation to several networks. Sizzle reel and budget is available to those with serious interest. 603-729-3066. Check out the JOBz website, inspirational posters, artwork and other key information at http://www.jobztv.com
“Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and say why not.” Looking forward to a great 2010.
SOME RECENT RESPONSES TO THE POST ABOVE AT LINKEDIN
sounds awesome! will definitely be following your progress. =)
Sounds like a good idea JT – like every reality show it will really come down to the cast, the execution and who will take the time to screen it. Best of luck in the New Year and never give up. Cheers.
Hi JT just saw the Youtube video on your site, it will be interesting to see what the outcome will be for the successful employees. Crossoverz also looks interesting as well.
We have. We are drawn to the advertising recommendations of Kevin Roberts of Saatchi & Saatchi to brand the show with “Lovemarks” (his phrase) which evoke an emotional feeling in the viewer. Kevin’s major contribution is “building loyalty beyond reason,” and we feel this is a worthy goal for developing the JOBz’ format. We researched this carefully and decided the emotional feelings generated by the “Become Legendary” campaign of Nike and Michael Jordan come close to the empowerment goals and emotional temperature built into the JOBz show concept. So in the face of an economy where there is 1 job for every 4 people (estimates differ) words like aspiring, perseverance, endurance, overcoming, persistence are the current JOBz’ Lovemarks for the show. This can certainly change. We feel this approach to the tone and sensibility of JOBz along with the fact that the subject matter of unemployment and putting people back to work are touch stones impacting every TV demographic, which appeals to sponsors.
I looked at your background and firm’s capabilities. If you feel you might be of assistance in helping us attach sponsors, prior to production, similar to what Simon Fuller just did with If I Can Dream, let’s talk (see links below). 603-729-3066.
We are also somewhat following the show social media integration format and distribution plan of Flatmates, produced by BeActive in Portugal. This was a recent highly sought after reality show at MIPCOM. ( http://www.vimeo.com/6382974 )
We can send you a 4 page JOBz Overview, and a more lengthy synopsis, treatment and rundown of episodes. We also have a Sizzle Reel we can direct to you. Take a look at our site: www.jobztv.com and newly created blog: http://jobzrealitytv.wordpress.com/
Being a Show writer, I hope you the best on your project.
If you do need a boot camp leader, I have someone that can possibly open some doors for you. I have a freind that Worked on Maury, Sally Jess Raphel, Ricky Lake and Montel Williams as a Boot camp leader. He still has connections and you may get some support through him as well. People still recognize him while we walk the streets. I would Love to know more about your project, the potential and the development of it.
Look forward to hearing from you.
PS: He also has his personal boot camp so there’s a location and a boot camp leader. So all you have to do is get the contestants and production company and it can happen.

A Reality TV show of putting people back to work….I have to admit that is original. I am not a fan of Reality TV but I think putting people back to work is a good thing. Alan Middick 1/4/2010 3:20 AM

I read your post. It sounds like a great project. Are you marketing it as a daytime show? Many people without jobs are watching daytime TV.
Watched the trailer and I can’t believe how cool this whole idea is. Can’t wait to see it! It feels inspiring already!

I think this show has great potential. The job aspect makes it unique but other than that it is actually an amalgamation of other very successful reality shows including The Biggest Loser which is a HUGE hit.
And I hope you do succeed at helping people live their best life.
JT I’m really looking forward to seeing what you’re doing with “JOBz”. It sounds like a great concept and a much needed awareness on TV.

TerryDaniels: Thanks for sharing this! It’s so competative out there trying to get a job – from the looks of this, it could really help people like me who are older and had been in the same job for 20+ years, figure out how to make themselves over and learn new skills to help find a new career.
